If it were a better product yes but as it is no. (2) Because my maintenance had expired they can help me work out the licence issue. (1) Because I purchased a 2019 licence they converted my licence type even though I never installed v.2019 so v.2017 will not work.

Went on chat with them to inquire about my pro licence not working on home computer 2017 version. My maintenance expired in December (forgot to renew, busy). Then the licencing change that invalidated all my old licences if I were to apply them to an old version. I do not see a justification for this but Ok. Basically doubled what I was paying to keep current, but fine. I was worried at first then it seemed like the product might receive some much-needed attention that google had not done. I maintained my licence over the years because for the odd project here and there it was still a good fit. These softwares are powerful and capable but lack that simple interface for banging out ideas.

I soon started using Inventor and then SolidWorks. I continued to use it to make visuals for client presentations, communication a concept to production member but really any meaningful work beyond that was sort of wasted effort because everything would have to be redrawn. Nobody wanted to deal with these files downstream. The DWG output is all line segments so useless for CNC on production or production/prototyping level. I had scores of furniture and product designs that look great but no real way to pass that on to a manufacturer.

The one thing about the software that was problematic for me at the time and IMHO hobbles the software even today its polygon nature. Google had just recently bought the company and it seemed like the future was wide open for this innovative platform.

I did a lot of design work in it with fairly good results (visually). I loved the speed and capability for getting an idea into a form that others can see and supports the development of the final product. I have been a pro-user from when I first started using SketchUp like 2006-2007.
